Notes will be purchased by the Banque de l'Indo Chine

at the prevailing official rate of exchange from those banks

enjoying the privilege of that rate for their purchases of notes.

Excess forward purchase contracts, with customary time

limits, may be covered by a sale of franos to the Banque de

l'Indo Chine to mature at the approximate due dates of the

purchase contracte. It will not, however, be necessary immediately

to cover a purchase by a corresponding sale to the Banque de

1' Indo Chine.

As regards the present position of banks, it will be

open to a bank on introduction of the scheme to gover at once

with the Banque de l'Indo Chine or to leave the position open

for future adjustment.

be made to take any unfair advantage which this information may
